FIELD: pipeline systems.
SUBSTANCE: rotary plug is designed to temporarily block the flow of the medium in certain sections of the pipeline system. The plug consists of interconnected go-through and non-go-through parts with seat surfaces and sealing elements and a mounting hole between them. The axes of the centres of the saddle surfaces of the pass and non-pass parts are located at equal distances from the central axis of the mounting hole. The plug is made statically balanced relative to the central axis of the mounting hole and contains mass balancing elements: the pass part by increasing its mass, and the non-pass part by reducing the mass.
EFFECT: when installed in devices for temporarily shutting off pipelines, balanced plugs provide safe working conditions for operating personnel.
