FIELD: oil and gas production equipment.
SUBSTANCE: scope of application of the claimed invention is seals for various oil and gas production equipment, as well as seals operating in aggressive environments at high pressure. The invention is intended for sealing the connection of pipeline elements, as well as equipment connected to it. The O-ring includes a sealing element and two anti-extrusion springs. The sealing element of width C is made of an annular elastomer with two flat end surfaces of height H, an inner cylindrical surface, and an outer surface with an annular protrusion with a height of J mm in the middle part. Each of the two anti-extrusion springs is made of a corrosion-resistant metal spiral with a diameter of G, vulcanized into a sealing element and located inside it around its outer surface at the point of transition of the outer surface to the end surface. The profile of the annular protrusion of the outer surface is formed in its cross section in the form of a middle of the outer surface that is convex along a radius of rounding of D mm and concave along a radius of rounding E of transition areas between said middle and cylindrical outer surfaces on the side of the end surfaces. The ratio of the rounding radius D of the middle of the outer surface to the rounding radius E is 4÷6, ratio of the height of the flat end surface to the height of the annular protrusion is H/J=2.5÷7. In this case, the ratio of the width of the sealing element to the height of the flat end surface is C/H = 1.4÷3, ratio of the height of the flat end surface to the diameter of the anti-extrusion spring is H/G=1.6÷3.5.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the tightness of the seal in the presence of high pressures, as well as to increase the strength of the sealing ring.
