FIELD: medicine; clinical laboratory diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict acute kidney injury in patients with pulmonary embolism. The content of N-terminal precursor of brain natriuretic hormone (NT-proBNP) in blood serum is determined by the enzyme immunoassay method. When the NT-proBNP level is more than 933 pg/ml, a high risk of developing acute kidney injury is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to improve prediction of acute kidney injury in patients with pulmonary embolism by determining the NT-proBNP content in the patient's blood.
