FIELD: medicine; ultrasound diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose prostate cancer in patients after adenomectomy. The linear dimensions of the resected prostate gland together with the cavity of the prevesicle are measured and its volume is calculated using the following formula: Ventire prostate = A x B x C x 0.523, where A is the longitudinal size of the prostate gland, cm, B is the anteroposterior size of the prostate gland, cm, C is the width of the prostate gland, cm, 0.523 is the correction factor. Then the linear dimensions of the prebladder cavity are measured and its volume is calculated using the following formula: Vprebubble = a x b x c x 0.523, where a is the longitudinal size of the pre-bladder, cm, b is the anterior-posterior size of the pre-bladder, cm, c is the width of the pre-bladder, cm, 0.523 is the correction factor. Based on the measurements taken, the residual volume of the resected prostate gland is calculated (V resected prostate): Vresected prostate = Ventire prostate – Vprebladder. The total prostate specific antigen (PSA total) is determined in ng/ml and its density (PSA-D) is determined in the volume of the resected prostate using the following formula: PSA-D = PSA total/Vresected prostate. If the PSA-D value is up to 0.151 ng/ml/cm3, normal is diagnosed; if the PSA-D value is 0.151 ng/ml/cm3 or more, prostate cancer is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method improves diagnostic accuracy by determining the residual volume of the resected prostate.
