SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating device capable of receiving a susceptor structure including a susceptor for generating an aerosol by induction heating. The aerosol generating device comprises: a housing with at least one other component and having a size sufficient to be grasped by a user; an accommodating portion with at least a portion of the susceptor structure; an electromagnetic induction coil located near the accommodating portion and heating the susceptor of the placed susceptor structure; and a controller controlling at least the electromagnetic induction coil, in which the controller performs a normality determination process. The determining of normality includes: applying voltage to the electromagnetic induction coil; detecting a change amount of the inductance of the electromagnetic induction coil and determining whether the change value of the inductance is within a predetermined normal range, and within which the controller controls the electromagnetic induction coil according to the determination result of the normality determination process.
EFFECT: aerosol generating device capable of preventing malfunctions due to foreign substances by detecting a change in the inductance of an electromagnetic induction coil for induction heating.
