FIELD: mechanical engineering; methods for predicting surface roughness.
SUBSTANCE: method for predicting the surface roughness of a threaded workpiece in vortex milling, taking into account the influence of cutting force, in accordance with the technological characteristics of intermittent multi-blade moulding in vortex milling, a model of the height of the residual ridges of the surface of the workpiece is established based on the analysis of the mutual motion of the tool and the workpiece. Taking into account the influence of elastoplastic deformation caused by cutting force, a plastic deformation height model is established based on the calculation principle of frictional wear. Based on the Hertz elastic contact theory, an elastic recovery height model is established, and based on the residual ridge height model and combined with the effect of cutting force on the elastoplastic deformation of the workpiece surface, a prediction model for the surface roughness of a threaded workpiece in whirlwind milling is formed.
EFFECT: optimization of processing parameters and extension of tool life while ensuring cutting quality.
