FIELD: chemical synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: used to obtain PEG metallic ether, which is subsequently used as a raw material for production of superplasticizers for construction mixtures. A method for the production of metallyl ether of polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of about 400 g/mol, contains the following stages: catalysis of metallyl alcohol with an alkaline catalyst and its subsequent drying to a mass fraction of water of no more than 0.025% and an alkalinity of no more than 5 mg KOH/g; pre-reaction of catalyzed metallic alcohol with ethylene oxide, wherein the pre-reaction is carried out at a temperature of 95-110°C, and at the pre-reaction stage, ethylene oxide is supplied to a pressure equal to the pressure before the pre-reaction plus 1.5 kgf/cm2 so that the pressure in the reactor does not exceed 4.5 kgf/cm2 ; reaction of pre-reacted catalyzed metallic alcohol with ethylene oxide, the reaction being carried out at a temperature of 115-120°C to an alkalinity of 0.3–0.7 mg KOH/g, and at the reaction stage ethylene oxide is supplied with a gradual increase in flow rate and a gradual increase in temperature, while the step of increasing flow rate is 100-200 kg/h, and the pitch of increasing temperature is about 1°C/5 minutes. The invention also relates to a method for producing metallyl ether of polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of about 2400 g/mol and to a composition for producing superplasticizers for construction mixtures containing metallyl ether of polyethylene glycol obtained by a method for producing metallyl ether of polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of about 2400 g/mol.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of the process for the production of metallic ether of polyethylene glycol by suppressing formation of reaction water, while the product has a narrow distribution of molecular weight and contains free PEGs in an amount of no more than 1 wt.%.
