FIELD: sorbents.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a carbon sorbent for purifying naphtha from sulphur-comprising compounds (SCC) based on industrial waste, namely petroleum coke impregnated with aqueous solutions of zinc, aluminium or iron (III) nitrate nonahydrate. A method has been proposed for producing a carbon sorbent for purifying naphtha from SCC, including grinding petroleum coke, its activation with water vapor and drying, whereas the activation of the sorbent with water vapor is carried out in two stages: initially by heating from 200 to 600°C for 2.5 hours, followed by a temperature rise over the course of an hour to 700°C and held at this temperature for one hour, then raise the temperature to 1100°C at speed 100°C/hour and maintained at this temperature for one hour; after activation, the sorbent is impregnated with a 5% aqueous solution of zinc, aluminium or iron (III) nitrate nonahydrate, followed by drying of the sorbent at 500°C for two hours.

EFFECT: simplified process of purifying naphtha from SCC and increased efficiency of the resulting sorbent.
