FIELD: production and use of cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to increase the strength and durability of both cutting and deforming tools in metalworking. The method is characterized by the fact that a tool hardened without tempering is heated at a heating rate of 125-150°C per minute to the temperature of polymorphic transformation and complete decomposition of martensite 800-830°C when exposed to ultrasonic frequency pulses through a heat-resistant indenter and cooled at a speed of 40-50°C per minute.
EFFECT: increase in the service life of steel tools.
