FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of strengthening of shearing die includes lased hardening of the side work surface by melting of allowances per single pass during the laser beam movement along the butt joint of the allowances, and further laser tempering. After laser hardening cold treatment is performed to temperature of completion of the martensite transformation, and the laser tempering is made using continuous radiation of the multi-channel CO2 laser at modes ensuring steel heating in the hardening zone win temperature range Ac1÷560°C, where Ac1 is critical temperature at that austenite formation starts in steel: laser radiation power, P, during laser tempering is by 4÷5 times below then during laser hardening, beam scanning speed, ν, and radiation spot diameter, d, on the treated surface for the laser hardening and laser tempering is the same.
EFFECT: higher strength.
