FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to treat bacterial infections. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of bacterial infections and wound healing is proposed, the said composition contains an antibacterial pharmaceutically active component for topical application, which is mupirocin, chitosan biopolymer, hydrolysed type 1 collagen and an ointment base. All the components of the composition are mixed until homogeneous to form an ointment with a pH value from 6.8 to 7.2. In the said composition, mupirocin is present in an amount from 0.1% to 5%, chitosan is present in an amount from 0.01% to 0.5%, and hydrolysed type 1 collagen is present in an amount from 0.01% to 0.5%.
EFFECT: pharmaceutical composition has improved stability, allows faster restoration of damaged skin and reduces the period of hospitalization.
