FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: reclamation of agricultural lands in the permafrost zone, and can be used to restore lands disturbed by thermokarst if there are ice inclusions or ice soils in the zone of thermal influence of the surface. The method includes humidification of soil by flooding the surface of a plot of land with water, which is carried out after the average daily air temperature reaches below the freezing temperature of water. The depth of the water flooding layer on the reclaimed plot of land is determined from the mathematical expression: , m, where: H - depth of the water layer in the flooded area, m; p is the porosity of the thawed soil of the active layer, units; h is the maximum depth of soil thawing in the area before the start of reclamation, m; v - filtration rate of thawed soil, m/hour; t - average air temperature during the period of water freezing,°C.
EFFECT: reduction in the depth of soil thawing in the reclaimed area due to its moistening within the active layer and decrease in the temperature of the frozen soil in the zone of thermal influence of the surface, helping to prevent development of thermokarst processes in the reclaimed area.
