FIELD: research of blasting charges.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigations of blasting charges in a shell of a flat or tape shape. Method of maintaining detonation along explosive material (EM) plate by means of its shielding with inert material refers to two- or three-layer explosive charges of flat or tape shape. Method of maintaining detonation includes installation of assembly for explosion of investigated EM based on TATB, made in form of wedge-shaped plate, having cross section not exceeding its critical thickness of detonation. Lower surface of the plate is covered with an inert screen. Investigated EM is initiated along the entire triangular side surface of the face with a plane-wave initiation system in a stationary mode, wherein detonation wave in sliding mode relative to screen passes from one triangular side face of plate to opposite face. Points of detonation termination are recorded. Dependence of critical thickness of detonation on stiffness of screen is plotted. Screen material used is material with speed of sound exceeding detonation speed of investigated EM, this ensures formation of compression waves with a smooth front and compaction of the boundary layer of the initial investigated EM in the screen.

EFFECT: using screen materials with speed of sound Cscreen, exceeding speed of detonation DEM of the contacted EM.
