FIELD: railway transport; auxiliary equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device designed for reducing speed of cars at gravity humps and it can be used in weight-type two-rail car retarders. Proposed two-rail car retarders contains brake beams hinge-connected to each rail. Beams are mechanically connected with drive members of articulated parallelogram mechanisms engaging with power cylinder and installed over base. Power cylinder is arranged between rails and is hinge-coupled with said drive members by rod at one side and by housing at other side. Base is furnished with stationary stops designed to limit displacement of said drive members.
EFFECT: reduced labor input at manufacturing and cost of servicing.
