SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for optical reading of information from glass media with multi-level coding. The device includes a block for precision positioning of the information carrier, a radiation source, an optical block consisting of a sequentially arranged scattering lens, a polarizer, the first mirror, a lens, the second mirror and an analyser, an optical block analyser, a detector in the form of a digital video camera with a CCD matrix, a control and data reading module controlling the parameters of the polarizer, the analyder, the precision positioning unit, ensuring movement of the information carrier relative to the lens. The precision positioning unit includes three pneumomechanical translators, configured to move along guides along mutually orthogonal axes, each of which contains a base with guides and a platform for moving along air-cushioned guides.

EFFECT: high-speed reading of information from an optical medium with multi-level encoding by ensuring fast and accurate precision movement of the information medium.
