FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For surgical treatment of strabismus weakening of medial rectus muscle in esotropia or lateral exotropia, for which in 2–3 mm distal from its anatomical attachment point, fixing sutures-holders are applied, it is cut off from sclera. Then on the prospective new muscle fixation point in 4–6 mm from its anatomical attachment point in the distal direction for the medial rectus muscle or 6–9 mm from its anatomical attachment point in the distal direction for the lateral rectus muscle 2–3 drops of the medical glue Sulphacrylate are applied, the muscle is moved by means of sutures-holders to the new fixation point and pressed to sclera for 1–1.5 minutes. Further, the second stage involves intensifying an ipsilateral antagonist, namely an external rectus muscle in esotropia or internal rectus muscle in exotropia, for which in 4–9 mm from the anatomical point of attachment of the muscle in the distal direction, sutures are placed, Sulphacrylate glue is applied on sclera at 1–2 mm proximal to the anatomical point of muscle attachment, the muscle is moved by means of sutures and pressed to the sclera at the glue application point for 1–1.5 minutes.
EFFECT: method eliminates complications and increases stability of operation result.
