FIELD: veterinary medicine; experimental medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for a comprehensive assessment of the results of treatment of femoral osteomyelitis in laboratory rats. The clinical condition of the rat, the severity of local signs of inflammation, the dynamics of body weight, and pathomorphological criteria for the course of the disease on histomorphological preparations are identified and scored. Next, the scores are summed up and the results of treatment of femoral osteomyelitis in laboratory rats are assessed: 0–4 points — good score, 5–8 points — satisfactory score, 9–12 — unsatisfactory score, 13–16 — extremely unsatisfactory assessment of the results of post-traumatic implant-associated osteomyelitis.
EFFECT: method allows to objectively and reliably assess the course of osteomyelitis of long bones in laboratory animals by assessing a set of the most significant indicators.
