METHOD FOR EXPERIMENTAL MODELING OF PERI-IMPLANT INFECTION OF LONG BONES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G09B23/28 A61B17/56

Abstract RU 2824017 C1

FIELD: veterinary science; experimental medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for experimental simulation of peri-implant infection of long bones. A vertical incision of the skin and subcutaneous fat is performed within a greater trochanter of the femur in laboratory rats under general anesthesia. Then in the area of greater trochanter, trepanation of femur with access into medullary canal is performed. Into the medullary canal cavity through the trephine opening in the greater trochanter region, implant of 2.5 cm is introduced, on the surface of which microbial biofilms are pre-formed by immersion in an agar medium with a culture of S. aureus 108 in 1 ml. Then the operative wound is closed tightly and in layers.

EFFECT: invention provides improved method for simulating peri-implant infection and subsequent osteomyelitis of long bones, increased reliability of the obtained data, increased labor productivity, reduced consumption of anesthetic preparations and minimization of their adverse side effects on the laboratory animal organism.
