FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of solid fuel and can be used in coke industry to produce coke for blast-furnace production using technology of compaction of coal charge. Method of producing metallurgical coke includes a step for compaction of a charge consisting of 50.0–99.0% of one or more grades of coals, conditionally suitable for coking, having a vitrinite reflection index of less than 1.0%, 0–49.0% of coking coals and 1.0–6.0% fine coke additive, wherein compacted charge density makes 1.1–1.3 t/m3.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain coke for blast-furnace production using non-coal additives with high strength properties.
