FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of solid fuel and can be used in coke industry to produce coke for blast-furnace production using technology of compaction of coal charge. Method of producing metallurgical coke includes a step for compaction of a charge consisting of 50–100% of coals of one or more grades, conditionally suitable for coking with a vitrinite reflection index of less than 1.0%, and 0–50% of coking coals, wherein compacted charge density makes 1.1–1.3 t/m3 while produced coke has strength after reaction with carbon dioxide of not less than 45%.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain coke for blast-furnace production with high strength properties.
