FIELD: electricity; methods of protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for active protection of objects from attacking ammunition (AA). For active protection of objects, all AA threatening the object are irradiated with electromagnetic energy from four receiving-transmitting antennae installed on a horizontal platform in a circle at an equal distance from each other along a circular arc and having beam patterns in the form of hemisphere within 360 degrees in azimuth and from zero to 90 degrees in elevation. Irradiation is carried out with probing signals with frequency modulation according to a one-sided saw-tooth linear decaying law with certain carrier frequencies and parameters. Signals reflected from each AA are used to measure the distance from the antennae to each AA in a certain manner. Results obtained from different antennae are linked to one AA. Obtained information on each of the accompanying AAs is processed using a multichannel processor. Estimate of the coordinates of the meeting point of the AA with the surface of the protected object is calculated. When minimum allowable distance is reached, command is generated for activation of protective ammunition and its detonation.
EFFECT: reduced weight and size of equipment and wider field of application, including on mobile objects.
