THREE-DIMENSIONAL HOMODYNE RADAR Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G01S13/72 H04B1/30

Abstract RU 2838247 C1

FIELD: radar.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar, namely to homodyne radar. In the three-dimensional homodyne radar, the antenna used is a two-dimensional active phased antenna array (APAA) with combined beam pattern control – with electromechanical control during circular scanning and searching for new targets, and during sector survey and automatic tracking of previously detected targets with an electronic line-column method of forming and controlling its beam pattern both in azimuth and in elevation angle. APAA is connected to a scanning device consisting of two independent channels forming amplitude-phase distribution of the field on the APAA aperture. Input of the scanning device is connected to the rotating transition. First group of outputs of the scanning device is connected to inputs of receiving-transmitting modules of APAA, which form columns of radiators on its aperture, and the second group of outputs of the scanning device is connected to inputs of receiving-transmitting modules, which form rows of radiators.

EFFECT: creation of a three-coordinate homodyne radar providing a countermeasure system in conditions of group use of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles in the near zone on the descending section of their trajectory with information on azimuth, range and elevation angle, as well as high accuracy of measuring coordinates of targets and resolution by elevation angle based on use of two-dimensional active phased antenna array (APAA).
