FIELD: processing and recycling of wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal processing of solid municipal wastes at incineration plants, namely to the part of ash and slag wastes decontamination, formed during combustion of solid municipal wastes. Method includes preparation of ash-slag charge before each new charge of electric furnace by mixing bottom ash and fly ash in ratio 7:3 or 6:4 and adding slaked lime to the obtained mixture of hearth and fly ash in amount of 2% of the weight of the mixture, granulating the mixture and feeding it into 3-phase alternating current electric furnace, starting the electric furnace with an electric arc discharge, charge melting, after discharge termination, due to resistive heating from current flow between electrodes until melt drainage, cooling and crystallisation of molten ash and slag by draining the entire volume of the melt from the electric furnace, except for the remaining residue, into the ladle, from which the melt is poured into molds for subsequent cooling and crystallisation, wherein the molds are additionally cooled by fans, granulation of molten ash and slag by grinding the solidified melt and subsequent separation into fractions, cleaning exhaust flue gases by feeding, and successive passing of exhaust flue gases through a pre-cooled gas duct, a pre-cooled gas cooler, a medium-temperature layout gas duct, bag filter, carbon filter, and emission of purified gases by means of an exhaust fan into the atmosphere, automated process control by periodical reading of measuring instruments in control fixed points, transmitting readings to a computer equipped with appropriate software, comparing measurement results and calculations with values of reference characteristics of the process, and transmitting control signals.

EFFECT: providing effective utilization of by-products—flue ash and slag formed during solid municipal wastes combustion at incineration plants, with the production of environmentally safe chemically inert slag, suitable for use in the construction industry.
