FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to friction stir welding technologies and can be used in welding aluminum alloys. The method of friction stir welding of aluminum alloys consists in the fact that the welding tool is moved with rotation and the application of axial force, and during the welding process the temperature is measured and, based on the obtained values, the heat input is adjusted. During the welding process, the temperature of aluminium alloys is measured along the leading edge of the shoulder of the welding tool. At the initial stage, the tip of the welding tool is immersed with rotation and the application of axial force into the surface of the elements to be joined until the temperature of the aluminium alloys along the leading edge of the shoulder reaches 450-500°C. Next, the welding process is organized cyclically, with each cycle consisting of the stage of moving the rotating welding tool in a step equal to 0.4-0.5 of the shoulder diameter, and the stage of heating the aluminium alloys using a rotating welding tool until the temperature of the aluminium alloys along the leading edge of the shoulder will not reach 450-500°C.
EFFECT: better mixing of welded aluminium alloys.
