SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose the technical condition of low-pressure earthen dams, identify dangerous defects and damage, as well as to assess and predict its technical condition and further suitability for use. In the method of diagnosing the technical condition of low-pressure earthen dams using non-destructive testing devices for inspection to detect characteristic defects and damage to a hydraulic structure and, based on the data obtained, predicting the technical condition of a hydraulic structure, according to the invention, a low-pressure earthen dam is examined as a hydraulic structure, and as a non-destructive testing devices for forming a three-dimensional model of the dam with the adjacent volume of the soil foundation, obtaining images of the dam and recording defects are used, respectively: a scanner in the form of a georadar antenna, additional equipment, including a digital camera and a video camera, which are placed on a moving platform in the form of sections in an amount of at least three, the hinge connection of which ensures repetition of the geometry of the dam surface for progressive scanning of a low-pressure earthen dam together with the volume of the soil foundation. The distance of the georadar antenna from the scanned surface of the dam is set constant.
EFFECT: ability to reliably diagnose the technical condition of low-pressure earthen dams.
