FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used for operational monitoring of technical condition of protective coating and soils of low-pressure earth dams, detection of dangerous defects and damages, as well as assessment and prediction of its technical condition and further suitability for operation. To detect defects and damages as the most protective coating on the upper slope, and the state of the soil constituting the dam body located under it, for the formation of loosening and subsidence at the early stage of their formation and providing the possibility of assessing the state of the low-pressure earth dam and making a decision on the required type and volume of its repair, by visualizing the state of the soil base for the presence of subsidence, cavities, loosening and foreign inclusions, affecting the technical condition of low-pressure earth dams, in a method for conducting operational monitoring of low-pressure earth dams, which includes moving using drive wheels a device with scanning means relative to the investigated low-pressure earth dam, obtaining images, recording and transmitting data to a computer for forming a three-dimensional model of a low-pressure earth dam using a software unit, according to the invention, the dam is divided into three research zones for detection of characteristic defects and damages for each zone, one of which occupies an area on the slope of the dam above the water line, characterized by the formation of landslides of the slope of the dam and the sliding of the reinforced concrete lining; the other one occupies the area of part of the dam slope below the water line, which is investigated for formation of voids and filtration of water through the dam body, and the third zone covers the soil base of the dam, which is investigated for subsidence. Scanning means are flat antenna devices for georadar, which are located at the same distance from the scanned surface. Antenna devices for georadar are installed with possibility of coverage of each zone and in number in accordance with required scanning area. Based on the obtained data, a three-dimensional model of the dam is formed with the volume of the soil base adjacent to it. Advantage of the proposed method over the known ones is that the proposed method of conducting operational monitoring of low-pressure earth dams is more quickly feasible and reliable compared to existing ones, since research is carried out along the entire transverse profile of the earth dam for the presence of defects and damages.
EFFECT: in the aggregate, all this makes it possible to reliably, quickly and efficiently assess the technical state of low-pressure earth dams.
