FIELD: production of ammonia.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of ammonia used in the chemical, food, oil and gas industries and agriculture. To obtain ammonia from a nitrogen-methane mixture, the nitrogen-methane mixture is contacted with catalyst 2 in horizontal reactor 1, made in the form of a pipe made of an inert dielectric material with a softening temperature of at least 130°C. Catalyst 2 is a ceramic filter with pore sizes of 70-700 microns, impregnated at a temperature of 5-50°C with a heteropoly compound with the chemical formula K15[P2V9W9O62]. Catalyst 2 is placed along the axis of the reactor to ensure complete overlap of the pipe flow area and is fixed on both sides by mesh electrodes 3 made of stainless steel with a cell size of 10-100 mm2 and connected to AC power source 4. The initial gas mixture is supplied to the inlet of reactor 1 at a nitrogen:methane molar ratio of 2:3 and a temperature of 5-50°C with simultaneous supply of 40-300 V alternating voltage to mesh electrodes 3 at an output current frequency of 70-200 Hz. At the output of the reactor, a mixture of dispersed carbon in the form of microdust and gaseous ammonia is obtained, which is divided into carbon and ammonia.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce ammonia in one stage with a yield of more than 80%.
