METHOD OF PREVENTION OF BLEEDING FROM ABDOMINAL AORTA WHEN DAMAGED TO ADVENTITIAL LAYER DURING RETROPERITONEAL LYMPHADENECTOMY IN PATIENTS WITH GERMINOGENIC TUMOURS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F2/06 

FIELD: medicine; oncology; vascular surgery.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to prevent bleeding from the abdominal aorta when the adventitial layer is damaged during retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy in patients with germ cell tumours. After mobilisation of the abdominal aorta, over the area devoid of the adventitial layer, a muff-like vascular stent-graft is applied along the entire diameter of the aorta, previously cut longitudinally along the entire length corresponding to the length of the damaged area of the aorta. The stent-graft is sutured along the anterior surface with a continuous suture, and the operation is completed.

EFFECT: reduction of the frequency of intraoperative and postoperative bleeding, the volume of blood loss, achievement of rapid and stable haemostasis, maintaining arterial blood flow distal to the vascular defect, avoidance of direct resection of the aorta and blocking its lumen, reduction of the risk of ischemic complications, reduction of the incidence of organ failure, as well as the duration of hospital treatment and the cost of the latter.
