FIELD: nanotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology, as well as to the chemical, pharmaceutical and energy industries, and can be used in the manufacture of semiconductors, gas sensors and catalysts in photocatalytic oxidation of water and organic contaminants in water. Indium electrodes are subjected to electrochemical oxidation in an electrolytic cell in an electrolyte solution, which is sodium chloride, or potassium chloride, or lithium chloride, or sodium sulphate. Electrochemical oxidation is carried out under the effect of symmetric alternating pulse current for 15 minutes at an average value of anode and cathode current density of 2.5÷2.5 A/cm2 at temperature of 55 °C. Precipitate is filtered, washed with distilled water, dried at temperature of 80 °C to constant mass and heat treated at temperature of 400 °C for 1 hour. Obtained nanosized powders are photocatalytically active material, which is a composite consisting of two polymorphs-indium oxides with controlled ratio of cubic and rhombohedral phases.
EFFECT: method is simple and does not involve use of aggressive media and high pressures.
