FIELD: purification from iron ions.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for purifying surface and waste water from iron ions. A method for purifying water from iron ions is to pass water through a layer of modified carbon sorbent. Purolate is used as a carbon sorbent, which is a semi-coke, which is previously modified by keeping it in a 5% alanine solution for 24 hours. Next, the sorbent is washed from possible modifier residues by filtering and kept for three hours in a thermostatic cabinet at a temperature of 250°C.

EFFECT: provides an increase in the sorption capacity of carbon sorbents when purifying natural and waste waters from iron ions, a reduction in the stages of sorbent processing during modification, and an increase in the environmental safety of water purification technology due to the possibility of recycling waste sorbent.
