FIELD: wastewater treatment for the production of organic acids.
SUBSTANCE: treatment method is carried out in three successive stages. At the 1st stage, the initial treatment of wastewater from suspended particles of organic impurities is carried out by treatment with a coagulant Al(OH)2Cl and a cationic flocculant such as Praestol BC-853. At the 2nd stage, treatment from cobalt and manganese ions is carried out using ion exchange resin KU - 2-8. At the 3rd stage, treatment from bromide compounds is carried out on an AB-17-8 ion exchange resin with the return of the extracted components of the catalyst complex to the oxidation process of p-xylene in the form of cobalt and manganese acetates and 1,4-di-bromomethyl-benzene.
EFFECT: increase in the degree of treatment of water from cobalt, manganese and bromine ions to the requirements of the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in wastewater and the return of expensive, valuable components of the catalyst complex to the system for the oxidation of paraxylene.
