FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely to the alloys based on aluminium and lithium of the 2xxx series and to products made from them. A product made of an aluminium-based alloy of the 2xxx series, obtained by pressure treatment, contains, wt.%: 3.1-3.8 Cu, 0.82-1.20 Li, 0.85-2.0 Zn, 0.10-0.60 Mn, 0.05-0.35 Mg, from 0.05 to 0.50 of at least one grain structure control element selected from the group consisting of Zr, Sc, Cr, V, Hf, other rare earth elements and combinations thereof, not more than 0.22 Ag, not more than 0.15 Fe, not more than 0.12 Si and not more than 0.15 Ti, the rest being aluminium, optional minor elements and impurities. Minor elements, when present, are included at a total content of not more than 1.0 wt.%. The 2xxx series aluminium alloy forming product is one of a plate product, an extruded product, or a forged product.
EFFECT: product is characterized by an improved combination of strength, fracture toughness, elongation and corrosion resistance.
