FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and radioelectronic engineering and can be used in producing powders, films and ceramics with high electrophysical parameters, as well as adsorbents and catalysts. Magnesium salt is used as acetate or formate, and titanium butylate is used. Reaction of said reagents is carried out in a water-alcohol solution, where the alcohol used is isopropanol. Magnesium salt and titanium butylate are taken in an amount which provides a molar ratio of Mg:Ti=1:1 to obtain magnesium metatitanate or 2:1 to obtain magnesium orthotitanate. Hydrolysis is carried out to form a gel and its aging, after which isopropanol, water and n-butanol formed during hydrolysis are distilled off in a rotary evaporator. Residue is annealed at 700 °C. Obtained product is a white powder, is magnesium meta- or orthotitanate of high degree of crystallinity.
EFFECT: invention simplifies and speeds up the process of producing magnesium titanates.
