SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of treating traumatic brain injury and a method of modulating the expression of one or more pro-inflammatory mediators. A method of treating traumatic brain injury in a subject in need thereof or treating a symptom of traumatic brain injury in a subject in need thereof, which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of acetyl-L-leucine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the subject, wherein the subject is administered from about 1 g to about 30 g of acetyl-L-leucine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. A method of modulating the expression of one or more proinflammatory mediators in a subject with traumatic brain injury, the said method comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of acetyl-L-leucine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the subject.
EFFECT: use of a group of inventions makes it possible to treat traumatic brain injury and a symptom of traumatic brain injury.
