FIELD: disguise; methods of camouflage painting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to camouflage, specifically to methods of camouflage painting, and can be used to create camouflage painting of aircraft. Aircraft camouflage painting method consists in applying on the upper and lower surfaces of the camouflage painting consisting of the main area of a light background, dark spot occupying up to 60 % of aircraft projection area, and a transition zone between the main area and the dark spot formed by mixing geometric elements of a rectangular shape having colours similar to the colour of the dark spot and the light background of the aircraft. At that, contours of dark spot are made not repeating contours of aircraft itself and its elements, due to narrowed contour of dark spot of painting and transition zone in relation to contour of aircraft in its middle part, as well as due to only covering the greater part of the horizontal tail with the main area of the light background and the smaller part with the transition zone of painting without applying a dark spot of camouflage painting on the horizontal tail of the aircraft. At that, the geometrical dimensions of the transition zone elements are selected so that, when viewed from a small distance, they are identified as separate elements, and when observed from large distances, they are presented to the observer in the form of grouped elements.

EFFECT: reduced range of visual detection of aircraft, difficult identification and determination of its spatial position.
