FIELD: dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can find application in the production of oral care products, namely the means for indicating dental plaque and biofilm. The proposed indicator gel for visualizing dental plaque and biofilm on teeth includes a dye, with erythrosine used as a dye in an amount of 7.45% by weight, the indicator gel also includes methylene blue in an amount of 6.2% by weight, 7% of sucrose, 3.8% of surfactant Marlipal 24/30, 5.3% of distilled glycerin, 3.4% of Blanose 7MF thickener, 0.5% of Solbrol M preservative, 0.3% of Solbrol P preservative, 0.05% of cetylpyridinium chloride and water in an amount of 66% by weight. The method of producing the indicated indicator gel involves mixing the ingredients into a container with the water preheated to 50–60°C in an amount of 66% by weight of the total mass of the gel, the amount of surfactant — Marlipal 24/30, measured in an amount of 3.8% of the total mass, is gradually added, mixed and cooled to room temperature, and then, alternately, with gradual stirring after adding each component, add, in an amount of the total mass: preservatives 0.5% of Solbrol M and 0.3% of Solbrol P, 0.05% of cetylpyridinium chloride, 7% of sucrose, 7.45% of erythrosine, 6.2% of methylene blue, after which the resulting semi-finished product is sent for filtration, and after filtration, distilled glycerin is added in an amount of 5.3% of the total mass and the resulting mixture is stirred at a speed of 1,100–1,200 rpm, after which the last step is added in an amount of 3.4% of the total mass of the thickener Blanose 7MF is also actively mixed at a speed of 1,100–1,200 rpm, then the resulting gel is packaged in tubes. The group of inventions provides a high-quality medical product suitable for use both at home and in the clinic.
EFFECT: expansion of the operational capabilities of the indicator for visualizing dental plaque and biofilm, with an improvement in the indicator and consumer properties compared to similar medical products.
