FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to precision instrument making and can be used in the manufacture and operation of two-degree or three-degree free gyroscopes with various supports of the suspension of the gyro unit by introducing self-oscillations into the circuit of the moment sensor to compensate for the friction moment. Magnitude of the moment generating the self-oscillations must be substantially greater than the frictional moment in the gyro unit suspensions. This change will make it possible to get rid of dead zone of measuring system and to increase accuracy of balancing as a whole. When the gyro unit oscillates at its own resonance frequency, the accuracy of determining the value of the imbalance of the gyro unit increases due to compensation by dissipative moments of the oscillating gyro unit for moments of viscous friction in suspensions, which is present in almost all types of suspensions. Considering the change in the natural resonance frequency during balancing operations, it is necessary to equip the oscillatory circuit with an automatic adjustment function. Value of imbalance can be determined from the difference in resonance frequencies of the gyro unit at smooth rotation of the initial position of the gyroscope to determine the angle of position of the centre of mass and the distance between the centre of mass and the axis of oscillations, which is inversely proportional to the value of intrinsic resonance of the oscillations.
EFFECT: high accuracy of balancing the gyro unit.
