FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rubber devulcanization methods. Disclosed is a method of reducing and devulcanizing vulcanised rubber (10) in a plant comprising: mill (12) for grinding vulcanised rubber into particles; twin-screw extruder (20), which is equipped with device (18) for forced supply of vulcanised rubber particles and a temperature control device; single-screw extruder (22) located downstream of twin-screw extruder (20) and equipped with a temperature control device, filter (26) for devulcanized rubber and extrusion head (28), having the shape of a slot, from which devulcanized rubber comes out in the form of a tape or a sheet; and devulcanized rubber strip or sheet cooling device. Twin-screw extruder (20) operates at temperature from 35 to 450 °C, screw rotation speed from 15 to 600 rpm and torque density from 11 to 18 N⋅m/cm3, so that shear rate remains almost constant throughout twin-screw extruder (20).
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to reduce power consumption and obtain end material without impurities and contaminants.
