FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 5-chloropyridin-3-yl-1H-indole-4-carboxylate, which involves esterification of indole-4-carboxylic acid and 3-hydroxy-5-chloropyridine in the presence of N, N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, 1,1-carbonyldiimidazole or 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide and 4-dimethylaminopyridine in molar ratio of 1 : 1 : 1.5 : 0.1, respectively, in a medium of methylene chloride at room temperature for 8 hours according to the scheme:
the product is extracted by successive recrystallization from benzene and ethanol.
EFFECT: improved method of producing 5-chloropyridin-3-yl-1H-indole-4-carboxylate, characterized by high purity of the obtained product, which also enables to scale the technology of producing the compound.
