FIELD: fodder.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to use of the composition as a feed additive for improving post-slaughter and/or quality parameters of meat obtained from an animal to be eaten. Said composition contains 5.0 to 95.0 wt.% of a polyphenolic compound containing free orthodi- or orthotrihydroxyphenolic acids, ellagotannins, gallic acid esters and flavonoids. Ratio of said free orthotrihydroxyphenolic acids and said ellagotannins in the composition ranges from 1:1 to 1:25, and the ratio of said esters of gallic acid to said flavonoids ranges from 50:1 to 1:50.
EFFECT: improvement of meat quality in terms of such parameters as tenderness and taste, as well as improvement of carcass weight and composition.
