FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering, namely to technique of determining the shape and spatial arrangement of objects using light radiation. Method for machine stereo vision, which consists in obtaining images of a scene using two mutually offset video cameras by scanning the scene line by line in the direction of mutual displacement of video cameras and subsequent processing of two video signals to obtain a parallax distribution over the field of view, wherein the parallax value is obtained by calculating the difference between the current value of the video signals of the two said video cameras and subsequent division of the obtained difference by the current value of the half-sum of the derivatives of said video signals in time.
EFFECT: wider range of products for the same purpose.
