SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of magnetic properties. Method for determining magnetic Q-factor of magnetic films using the excitation of a magnon condensate of Bose-Einstein comprises steps of magnetizing the films in alternating fields in the presence of a constant field, wherein the value of the shift of the nonlinear ferromagnetic resonance signal on the field is compared with the shift for the reference film with known attenuation, wherein shift is caused by excitation of magnon condensate of Bose-Einstein condensate, which implies its independence from demagnetizing factors and absence of necessity to rigidly limit investigated area of sample.
EFFECT: easy determination of the attenuation parameter of a thin film of iron-yttrium garnet.
