SUBSTANCE: invention relates to domestic research. Disclosed is a method of determining content of volatile foul-smelling compounds in atmospheric air from sludge sites in order to calculate their emissions at waste water treatment plants, which includes sampling and measuring chemicals. At that, samples of sewage sludge entering the sludge fields or treated at the sewage treatment plant are placed, into a climatic chamber or into a system of chambers equipped with an aspiration system for air sampling, and maintaining the necessary conditions in it at a given level: temperature 200 °C, humidity 65% and atmospheric pressure 760 mmHg, wherein the experiment lasts for at least 15 days, during which air samples are taken from the test chamber at least 4 times.
EFFECT: invention provides determination in laboratory conditions of emission of foul-smelling volatile pollutants in air of test chamber from sewage sludge.
