FIELD: wood-working industry, tests of wood boards, both processed and unprocessed, for emission of formaldehyde. SUBSTANCE: process includes placement of specimens of wood materials into testing chamber, generation of analyzed gaseous agent with specified parameters of humidity and temperature, subsequent processing of tested specimens by it, determination of concentration of volatile substances in analyzed agent. Test is conducted with change and/or without change of parameters of analyzed agent, saturation and air exchange and/or additional factors effecting release of volatile substances from wood materials or articles made of it in process of its usage. Specified humidity of analyzed agent is ensured by its bubbling in medium heated to temperature corresponding to this humidity and specified temperature of analyzed agent that reached specified humidity is provided by its heating right in testing chamber. EFFECT: reduced labor input to testing process due to timely preparation of analyzed agent with specified parameters, enhanced efficiency thanks to usage of technique taking into account factors effecting emission of volatile substances from wood material or article made of it during its usage, change of climatic conditions of usage of wood material. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
