FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous metal casting plant. Mold for continuous casting of metals of the type formed by a set of metal plates (22) supported by cooling devices made with possibility of cooling of metal plates due to circulation of cooling fluid medium, contains: at least one optical fibre including a plurality of Bragg filters extending in the wall of at least one of said plates (22), at least one groove made in the wall of at least one of said plates (22) in a direction not parallel to the casting axis of the mould over at least part of the length, wherein the optical fibre passes in the groove, and a tongue having a shape that substantially complements the groove, and covering the groove along its entire length, wherein the groove and the tongue have a shape suitable for the passage of the optical fibre, wherein said tongue comprises additional part made integral before groove closure.
EFFECT: improved detection of breakthrough in continuous metals casting plant.
