METHOD OF CONTINUOUS CASTING OF METAL Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: casting is effected in series of several casting ladles by method of "melting over melting". Metal is fed into crystallizer, ingot is drawn out of it with changing speed. Ingot is maintained and guided in secondary cooling zone with the help of rollers mounted on bearing frames. Ingot surface is cooled by means of cooler sprayed through injetors. Cooler consumption is controlled. Ingot surface temperature is measured. Displacement of rollers along with bearing frames regarding technological axis is measured. In the process of casting 1-3 ladles in series cooler consumption is measured when bearing frames are displaced in direction of one of sides within range of 0,1-0,01 of ingot thickness. Cooler consumption is measured on ingot opposite sides within 10-30 per cent limits from initial value of first ladle casting. When bearing frames are displaced within limits of 0,0001-0,008 of ingot thickness cooler consumption on ingot sides, ingot drawing speed and ingot surface temperature in secondary cooling zone are measured. Stated technological characteristics are maintained unchanged during casting process of following ladles. Cooler consumption increases along the side in direction opposite to that of bearing frames displacement. Cooler consumption reduces along the side in direction coinsiding with that of bearing frames displacement. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
