An article for generating an aerosol comprises a substrate portion which includes an aerosol-forming substrate and a capsular portion. Capsule part contains carrier material. One or more destructible capsules are embedded in the carrier material. One or more destructible capsules contain one or more active substances. At least portions of said one or more destructible capsules are located on the outer surface of the aerosol generating article.

EFFECT: providing destruction of capsules with active substance without change of taste-and-aroma characteristics in absence of additional devices for destruction of capsules.
