FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of functional ceramic elements of metal wiring tooling for aluminum industry. Disclosed is a method of producing ceramic articles based on wollastonite using water injection molding, the method involves preparing an aqueous slurry from a mixture of natural wollastonite, clay, kaolin, water, liquid glass and soda ash, molding articles, drying and firing. Powder of natural concentrate of wollastonite with elongated shape of particles with ratio l/d 15:1 with particle size of 50–70 mcm is added to slurry in amount of 2.0–9.0 % of slurry weight. Articles are molded by slurry casting under pressure of 0.35–0.7 MPa into polymer matrices with porosity of 15–56 %, molding duration is 1.25–3 hours, followed by drying at temperature of 100–120 °C for not more than 3 hours, then annealing is carried out at temperature of 900–1,000 °C.
EFFECT: improved crack resistance and heat resistance; in addition, the invention provides a reduction in the duration of the technological cycle for the manufacture of large-sized and complex-shaped articles based on natural wollastonite due to reduction of molding stage time and minimization of machining of workpieces.
