SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of large-sized and complex-shaped corundum-mullite refractory articles, used as ammunition, lining and various ceramic equipment of high-temperature installations, furnaces, benches, units and other equipment. Method of producing complex-shaped corundum-mullite refractory articles involves preparing a mixture by mixing high-alumina and mullite powders, preparation of moulding compound by mixing the mixture with a binder based on an alcohol-acetone solution of ethyl silicate and a curing catalyst, vibrating the workpieces and annealing the articles. Mixture of powders is used as charge components in the following ratio, wt.%: tabular alumina with particle size of 0–10 mcm 5–15; tabular alumina with particle size of 0.2–1.0 mm 10–20; tabular alumina with particle size of 1–3 mm 15–25; electrocorundum with particle size of 0.8–10.0 mcm 5–15; electrocorundum with particle size of 100–150 mcm 8–17; mullite with particle size of 0–30 mcm 13–23; mullite with particle size of 0–1.0 mm 10–20. Vibration moulding of workpieces is carried out at vibration amplitude of 0.5–1.0 mm for 3–5 minutes.
EFFECT: increasing heat resistance, density, strength and ensuring equal density of refractory products intended for long-term operation in modes of cyclic sharp temperature drops.
