METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF LETHAL OUTCOME IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B8/02

Abstract RU 2817260 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to functional diagnostics, and can be used for rapid prediction of probability of fatal outcome in patients with ischemic stroke for up to 1 month. During the first days from the moment of hospitalization, the patient undergoes a transthoracic echocardiographic examination, during which the left atrial myocardial deformation values are assessed in the conduction and contractile phases, and the derived deformation values are used to calculate the probability (p) of the lethal outcome. If p ≥ 10%, a high risk of lethal outcome is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables assessing the probability of developing an unfavourable outcome, thereby facilitating an increase in the effectiveness of therapeutic and diagnostic measures, influencing the selection of the optimal approach to managing the patients.
